Malaysia Report
September 22nd 2007, we were privileged to have a team of three from the Portland, Oregon Praise Chapel. They visited the different homes of these migrant workers, shared their testimony and spoke at our leadership meeting on Saturday evening. The highlight of their visit was a drama they performed on Sunday evening. Many were blessed and there were ten salvations that night. The team was a great blessing to all of us. We would like to thank Pastor Dale for encouraging them to visit Malaysia. We thank them also for taking time off work and paying their own way to be here. Thank you for being a blessing to us. God Bless!
For health reasons, Rose has decided to plant her own vegetable garden, with the help of some of the Vietnamese guys. When off work or after work, they would come over to the house to help out in this project. Our backyard looks like a vegetable farm with a good variety of vegetables growing. Vegetables sold at the local market are fertilized with chemicals and pesticides. We’ve read about it in the local newspapers and have been warned about it. So we’ve decided to grow our own. This project also gives us the opportunity to build good relationships with these helpers.
Last week, we were able to purchase a good, used van for the ministry. We want to thank everyone who gave generously towards this project. Our van is a 1999 Nissan, able to carry ten to twelve passengers. It is in full use now, picking-up folks for Saturday and Sunday evenings. It is also used during the week, when we visit the homes of these migrant workers.
Our Sunday evening services are well attended. On Sunday October 28th there were six salvations. The lady on the left (and in the picture on the right) is a manager of one of the factories here. She has about eighty Vietnamese working for herLast Sunday, November 4th, she shared her testimony. She is so excited about her salvation experience and is determined to witness to all who work for her, desiring to see them come to know the Lord like she did. She is highly respected and loved by all who work for her. We have a total of 16 attending our leadership training meetings, on Saturday evenings, in our home. It’s a joy to see so many taking leadership positions such as Ushers, Song Leaders and Singers in our worship team. Some of them come along with us visiting homes during the week. Praise the Lord many are starting to take ownership of this ministry, something we have prayed for and worked for. Thank you for your prayers and financial support. God Bless!
